After completing High School, Kathrin Chintamani Witte joined a three year  professional training to learn weaving and designing at the vocational school in Sindelfingen, Germany.

1988 she traveled for two years in Southeast Asia and stayed most of the time in India.
Attracted by the Indian culture, Kathrin Chintamani Witte decided to study  Fine Arts at the Rabindranath Tagore University in Shantiniketan, West- Bengal, India from 1992- 1997.

Since then she lives and works as a freelance artist and textile designer in India.
